Bruce Nauman: Contrapposto Studies
Contrapposto Studies examines a group of large-scale video works by the artist Bruce Nauman, in which he uses his own body as the tool of performance and an object of examination. The book focuses on Contrapposto Studies I–VII, which is composed of seven separate video and sound works that show Nauman’s body at various angles and walking in an exaggerated contrapposto stance. A gatefold section, printed the full length of a press sheet, gives the reader an idea of the immersive experience of seeing these simultaneous projections as they are exhibited.
